I fell in love with Blue Ridge CrossFit the first day I walked in the door! I grew up watching my mother struggle with weight-related health issues, so I know how  difficult it can be to lose weight and also how  damaging it is to your body. When I reached 201 pounds last year, I knew it was time for me to make changes in my life, or I was destined to give up like my mom had. I began losing weight, going for walks, going to the gym, but I never really enjoyed working out. I would go grudgingly and half-ass the workouts just so I could say "I worked out today!". It wasn't until I visited my brother in Florida in November of 2011 when something "clicked". He brought me to CrossFit and from the first workout, I was hooked! As soon as I got back to Asheville, I began my search for a CrossFit gym. I started coming to Blue Ridge CrossFit and have never looked back! I can honestly say that I LOVE working out now. The workouts are intense, unique and never boring. The trainers are patient, motivating, and helpful. I have found a community at Blue Ridge CrossFit that supports, encourages, and pushes me to be better than I ever thought I could be.
I feel incredible. I feel good enough to show people pictures of myself in my underwear! My legs are ridiculously muscle-y. And more important than anything, I feel so powerful, mentally as well as physically. I'm in control of my life and my health and that's a pretty empowering thing. I feel like there's nothing that I can't do, or at least nothing that I'm not willing to try. I am confident and happy. I feel like a badass. And damn, it feels good!

Blue Ridge Crossfit has everything you need in a workout facility. The gym is full of good quality equipment that is well maintained. The workouts are intense and effective. I have been working out 3 times a week for 8 months now and I am hooked! I find the rates to be higher than an average gym, but the results are anything but average. Crossfit is truly an investment in your current and future health. Having been a member of some type of globo gym for the past 15 years, I find Crossfit to be the best and most effective of them all. The community of people that workout here is as top notch and supportive as the workout itself. Try it out and see for yourself, I recommend it.

I've always lived an active lifestyle, and enjoyed going to the typical gym for as long as I can remember. A friend asked me to try out Blue Ridge CrossFit. From the very first class, I knew I was hooked. It was the most intense and satisfying workout, I'd EVER been through. I started going five days a week because I couldn't get enough. It's different every day. It's new and exciting. It's nothing like the regular gym, but it's everything I had been searching for. The fun and competitive atmosphere kept me coming back. I have only one regret. I wish I had joined sooner!

Anyone that knows me realizes quickly that Crossfit, and especially Crossfit at BRCF has consumed my life. As a traumatic brain injury survivor I have faced many challenges and set backs along with trying a multiple of things to rehab myself. Cycling helped the best with my balance but as age and responsibilities as a parent increased I found myself cycling a lot less if any at all. One day I called Eddie desparate for something that would kick start me into the second half of my life. He told me about Crossfit and I knew I had to at least give it a try no matter how scared or nervous I was. Well here I am nearly two years later and even though every WOD I show up to gives me butterflies I have a great time. The friends I have made and what I have learned at BRCF is priceless and I intend to pass what I have learned to my son and hope he sees what a great thing Crossfit is. Thanks BRCF for changing my life and making me a better healthier person.

The major words that come to me when I think of Blue Ridge Crossfit are "community" and "challenge". Being a former athlete through high school and college I never found anything that I have liked as much as Crossfit, more importantly I have never found a community of people better than those at Blue Ridge Crossfit that Challenge me every day. It is not only a challenge but it is support in that challenge that I love!! Thanks.

Growing up I never played sports. In fact, my parents owned a fast food chain and I grew up eating fried food and working for them after school and on weekends. I have suffered from depression and subsequently gain weight. At my heaviest of 275lbs I decided I had to do something. I started going to a globo gym and would go every once in a while. Regularly for a few months then slack off then back again. Never consistent. Then a few of my co-workers started telling me to come try Blue Ridge Crossfit. I was very reluctant because of my size and my lack of athletic ability. I finally went and one time was all it took to get hooked. It's an infectious disease to feel that good. To accomplish things I never thought I would ever do or even try. It's the only thing I have ever been disciplined about doing in my life. It's the hardest, most challenging, and most rewarding thing I've ever done for myself. It has literally changed not only my body but me as a person. I have confidence in all aspects of my life. Not only that but I have a new family. BRCF is a family. No matter what level you are at everyone pushes and supports you through every obstacle. We even cry together when one of us overcomes a challenge. Encouraging each other to grow. Every single day I am grateful for my BRCF family for saving my life and helping me be a better, faster, stronger, healthier, and happier individual.
